• Leaders of Laos, China, Cambodia, and Russia sent their condolences to Viet Nam over the death of Party Secretary General Nguyen Phu Trong.

  • On May 8, 2024, Ambassador of Belarus to Vietnam Uladzimir Baravikou took part in the ceremony of exchanging capsules with earth and photographic materials of the Brest Fortress-Hero Memorial Complex and the Museum of the Historical Victory of Dien Bien Phu on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the 70th anniversary of the victory at Dien Bien Phu. Presenting the "Brest Fortress" soil container to Dien Bien province was Mr. Uladzimir Baravikou, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus in Vietnam. Mr. Vu A Bang, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, received and worked with the Embassy.

  • On the morning of May 7, at Dien Bien Province Stadium, The Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the State President, the Government, the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee held a grand ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 - 2024).

  • On the evening of May 6th, at May 7 Square, Dien Bien Phu City, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with Dien Bien Province and relevant agencies, organized a special art program to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory under the theme "Dien Bien Phu - A Golden Historical Milestone". The program was broadcasted live on VTV1 - Vietnam Television Channel and nationwide television stations, with live radio broadcast on the Voice of Vietnam channel.

  • On the evening of May 5, Vietnam Television organized a live videoconference program commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory with the theme "Under the flag of determination to win" at 5 bridge points: Hanoi city, Ho Chi Minh City, Thanh Hoa province, Kon Tum province and Dien Bien province.

  • On the evening of May 5, at the 4-barreled heavy machine gun artifact display area, next to Muong Thanh bridge, Dien Bien Phu city, the handover program of the Muong Thanh bridge lighting system took place. Attending the ceremony were Ms. Patricia Mirallès, Minister of State for Veterans and Remembrance of France; French Embassy and French Development Agency (AFD) in Vietnam. On the side of Dien Bien province, there was Mr. Le Thanh Do - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of departments, branches and localities in the province.

  • In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the victory at Dien Bien Phu and to convey the significance and importance of this historic triumph to the general public and international visitors, an art program titled "Dien Bien Phu - Forever shining golden epic" was organized on April 27th, at the ceremony yard of the Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument. The High Command of the Guard and the High Command of the Mobile Police (Ministry of Public Security) collaborated with the Dien Bien Provincial Police to host this event.

  • On the afternoon of April 17th Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Central delegation attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the renovation of Him Lam resistance center and naming streets in Dien Bien Phu city, towards the 70th anniversary of the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu on May 7.

  • On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the victory over Dien Bien Phu (May 7, 1954-May 7, 2024), on the morning of April 17th, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in collaboration with Dien Bien province organized a program to meet Dien Bien soldiers, young volunteers, and frontline works directly participating in the Dien Bien Phu campaign. Attending the meeting program on the central side were Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Mr. Do Van Chien - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; comrades of the Party Central Committee, former members of the Party Central Committee; Representatives of central departments, ministries, branches and unions.

  • The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on April 15 approved the logo to be used in all communications activities for the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.

  • Vietnam Airlines will operate three flights daily between Hanoi and Dien Bien from May 3 to 8, in response to the northwestern province's upcoming grand celebration of the 70th Dien Bien Phu Victory anniversary (May 7, 1954-2024).

  • On the afternoon of April 13th, Dien Bien province welcomed a delegation of relay runners from Quang Binh to the finish line at the Memorial Area of General Vo Nguyen Giap in the Headquaters of Dien Bien Phu Campaign Muong Phang commune, Dien Bien Phu city).

  • The historic victory of Dien Bien Phu is a brilliant milestone for the Vietnamese people in the struggle against French colonialism in the 20th century. Victory became a symbol of Vietnamese heroism and strength; leaving behind many profound lessons, which still remain of great value for the cause of innovation, construction and defense of the Fatherland in the current period.

  • In order to meet the increased demand for visitors during peak occasions, especially the holidays April 30th - May 1st and the 70th Anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum will organize a reception and serve visitors in the evening.

  • Dienbien.gov.vn – On the morning of April 3, at May 7 Square, Dien Bien Phu city, the Opening Ceremony and the first Stage of the 36th Ho Chi Minh City Television National Cycling Tournament in 2024 took place in Dien Bien Phu city (Dien Bien province). Attending the ceremony were comrades: Trinh Thi Thu Thuy - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Duong Anh Duc - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Head of the Race Steering Committee; Vu A Bang - Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee; Representatives of leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches; sponsoring units and a large number of people and tourists came to watch and cheer.

  • On the morning of 2nd April 2024, at May 7 Square in Dien Bien Phu City, the grassroots Cultural Department (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien Province held the opening ceremony of the national propaganda art exhibition commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.
