  • The “Bun Huot Nam” Water Festival of Lao people in Na Sang 1 village, Nua Ngam commune, Dien Bien district is a traditional New Year celebration of Lao people. This is an important event in the cultural and spiritual life of the Lao ethnic community. During the event, people worshiped for good rain and wind and abundant crops. They prayed for all things grow and develop well and to wash away the bad luck of the old year and enter the new year with good luck for everyone, families and the community.

  • On the morning of April 2nd, at Ban Phu Citadel Relic (Noong Het commune, Dien Bien district). Dien Bien District People's Committee, organized the opening ceremony of Ban Phu Citedal Festival 2024. Attending the opening ceremony included Mr. Tran Quoc Cuong, a member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Mua A Vang, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Dien Bien Dong district; Ms. Giang Thi Hoa, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Lo Van Tien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches, districts, towns and cities in the province.

  • On the evening of April 1st, at the National Historical and Cultural Relic Area of Ban Phu Citadel, Noong Het commune, Dien Bien district. Dien Bien District People's Committee organized the Opening Ceremony of the 10th Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival of Dien Bien District's Ethnic Minorities. Attending the opening night were comrades: Tran Quoc Cuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Provincial party secretaries; Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of departments, branches and leaders of Dien Bien district. Representatives of Phon Thoong district, Luang Prabang province, representatives of Muong May district, Phongsaly district (Lao People's Democratic Republic) and representatives of 9 provinces throughout the country also participated.

  • In the evening of March 16th, at May 7th Square, Dien Bien Phu City, Dien Bien Province collaborates with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to solemnly inaugurate The Visit Vietnam Year and Ban Flower Festival - Dien Bien 2024, themed "Glorious Dien Bien Phu - Endless Experiences".

  • At this time, Ban flowers have begun to bloom brightly on the streets and forests of Dien Bien land as an invitation for tourists to visit.

  • The Visit Vietnam Year 2024 hosted by the northern mountainous province of Dien Bien will feature cultural, economic, and social events associated with the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 – 2024).

  • On January 19th, in Thanh Hoa City, Thanh Hoa Province, the People's Committee of Dien Bien Province coordinated with the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa Province to organize the opening ceremony of the Dien Bien - Thanh Hoa Cultural and Tourism Week, 2024. The opening ceremony was broadcast live on TTV channel, Thanh Hoa Radio and Television, and was also broadcasted by Dien Bien Radio and Television; at the same time, it was live streamed on digital platforms.

  • Within the framework of the Cherry Blossom Festival - Dien Bien Phu 2024, from January 12-14, at Flower Island, Pa Khoang Commune, Dien Bien Phu City, there have been activities to display and introduce OCOP products, cultural and tourism products of the locality.

  • In 2 days (January 13 - 14), at Flower Island, Pa Khoang commune, Dien Bien Phu city took place exciting exchange and sports competition activities within the framework of the Cherry Blossom Festival - Dien Bien Phu 2024, attracting a large number of people and tourists to watch and cheer.

  • On the morning of January 14th, the Dien Bien Phu city organized a Marathon with the theme "Dien Bien Phu Marathon 2024 - Back to Blooming fortress".

  • Continuing the activities at the Cherry Blossom Festival - Dien Bien Phu 2024, on the afternoon of January 13, Dien Bien Phu City organised the Open Kayak Race in 2024. The tournament attracted many people and tourists to watch and cheer enthusiastically.

  • On the evening of January 12th, at 7/5 Square, Dien Bien Phu City, the Dien Bien Phu Cherry Blossom Festival 2024 with the theme "Experience Pa Khoang - Admire Cherry Blossoms" was officially opened.

  • Within the framework of activities at the Cherry Blossom Festival - Dien Bien Phu 2024, the culinary contest "Flavours of Dien Bien" was held on the morning of January 13, in the central area of Flower Island, Pa Khoang commune, Dien Bien Phu city to promote and honor national cultural identity and promote national culture. Promote and introduce to domestic and international tourists the unique culinary culture, and develop quality signature dishes to serve the needs of tourism development.

  • Within the framework of the Cherry Blossom Festival - Dien Bien Phu in 2024, on the morning of January 13, at Flower island, Pa Khoang commune, Dien Bien Phu city took place a cultural exchange performance between Vietnam and Japan and a Sake - Mong Pe party wine. Attending the program were Mr. Takio Yamada, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam; Mrs. Bui Thi Minh Hoai - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Committee.   • Cherry blossoms are a type of flower originating from Japan and are greatly loved in that country. Therefore, when mentioning cherry blossoms, most people immediately think of the Land of the Rising Sun. However, few are aware that in Dien Bien, there is also a beautiful cherry blossom oasis, attracting tourists from all over.
