Mr. Pham Duc Toan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee - Standing Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee attended the lecture on renewable energy and high-tech agriculture.

The conference was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to Vietnam; Thai Business Association in Vietnam, organizations, agencies, about 40 Thai corporations and businesses in Vietnam as well as businesses from Thailand and representatives of five Thai localities (Mukdahan, Ubon Ratchathani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, and Khon Kaen) and 17 Vietnamese localities will also attend the event. Within the framework of the Conference, there are 4 main activities: Displaying and promoting images of culture, tourism, investment promotion and typical products of Quang Tri province, provinces and cities attending the event. and Thai enterprises; visit a number of economic, industrial and cultural establishments in Quang Tri province; meeting and connecting internally between partners of Quang Tri province and Thailand; organized the "Meet Thailand" conference between the partners of Vietnam and Thailand.

Leaders of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee and Mr. Nikorndej Balankura - the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to Vietnam discussed the situation, measures and proposals to promote cooperation in various fields.

In the first 6 months of 2023, the province's gross domestic product (GRDP) reached VND 6,792.13 billion, up 7.06% over the same period last year, ranking 4th out of 14 provinces in the Northern midland and mountainous region and ranked 17th out of 63 provinces and cities in Vietnam. The business investment environment continues to change and improve in a positive direction; attracted the attention of survey, investment registration of many investors, large corporations. The construction progress of key works has been accelerated, education and training, health care, socio-cultural, broadcasting and television have made many advances; social security policies are guaranteed, the material and spiritual life of the people has been gradually improved. National defense and security were kept stable, foreign affairs and international cooperation continued to be maintained, promoted and expanded.

Currently, Dien Bien province is focusing on prioritizing resources for economic development, focusing on industries and fields with strengths of the province with agriculture and forestry as the foundation, construction as the driving force, tourism is a spearhead economic sector and processing industry and electricity industry are important.

Previously, the delegation of Dien Bien province attended the Opening Ceremony of the booth displaying typical products of Vietnam and Thailand.

The conference aims to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation between localities and businesses of the two countries, as well as friendly exchanges between Thai and Vietnamese localities, including Dien Bien  province. /.
