The event was held at the headquarters of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), with the combination of the Dien Bien Province delegation led by Mr. Lo Van Mung - Chairman of the Fatherland Front of Dien Bien Province.

Attending the event were leaders and representatives of international organizations in Geneva, Ambassadors - Heads of delegations and representatives of delegations of countries in Geneva, representatives of State governments, Swiss agencies, numerous international friends and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Switzerland.

Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai - Head of the Permanent Representative Delegation of Vietnam in Geneva reviewed the historical milestones in Vietnam's development journey since President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence on September 2,1945, emphasizing the achievements of Vietnam's process of opening up and international integration.

Vietnam has become one of the most dynamic economies in the Asia-Pacific region, a member of many economic links and production chains in the region and the world, and one of the leading rice exporting countries, making an important contribution to world food security.

On behalf of the delegation of Dien Bien province on a working visit to Geneva, Mr. Lo Van Mung - Chairman of the Fatherland Front of Dien Bien province introduced the province's potentials and strengths.

Currently, Dien Bien is joining the whole country in implementing the socio-economic development strategy for the period 2021-2030, green transformation, digital transformation, focusing on the application of scientific and technological advances, innovation, and construction. Establishing and publishing quality standards and brands... Creating competitive products, focusing on developing the strengths of agricultural products, herbs, unique handicraft products and world eco-tourism introduce local landscapes and cultural traditions.

In 2024, Dien Bien province will solemnly organize a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu, the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Geneva Accords, with the desire to raise awareness of the value of peace, as well as socio-economic development in Dien Bien province and in Vietnam in general. Dien Bien Province hopes to welcome many international guests and overseas Vietnamese to visit Dien Bien, participate in cultural and artistic activities, economic and trade exchanges, and jointly promote cooperation for peace and sustainable development.

A number of handicrafts and agricultural products from Dien Bien province and some regions of Vietnam displayed at the event attracted great interest from international friends.

In addition to diplomatic activities, Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai has connected many activities of international organizations with state management agencies and domestic businesses, such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), World Health Organization (WHO), World Trade Organization (WTO), United Nations Office in Geneva...

These activities have contributed to promoting and developing business opportunities for businesses. On October 18-21, 2023, the delegation of the United Nations Office in Geneva will visit and work in Vietnam on sustainable development goals, the role of women and the implementation of gender equality.
