Kho Chua La Cave, a type of scenic beauty is located on the territory of Pang De A1 Village, Xa Nhe Commune, Tua Chua District, Dien Bien Province. Kho Chua La Cave is more than 1 km from the head office of Xa Nhe Commune People’s Committee, 300 m from the inter-commune road, about 15 km from the center Tua Chua District by asphalted road. This is a natural cave formed from geological formations for millions of years, with its pristine beauty and many splendid stalactites and strange shapes that create a rare natural beauty compared to the caves discovered in the territory of Tua Chua District.
Kho Chua La scenic beauty was formed millions of years ago, discovered by locals in 2008. The Cave is located at a height of about 1,000 m above sea level, with a depth of over 800 m, divided into 3 cavities. The cave mouth is small, deep and turns to the Southeast. In the Cave, the widest place is about 15 – 18 m, the average height of arch is from 18 – 25 m. Most of the cave background is rocky, due to the split limestone terrain along with the process of dissolved karst and carbonate condensation, forming a lot of yellow, gray, green moss stalactities or stone pillars, stlagmites. The cave background has many winding ranges of rock in the shapes of terraced fields, lotus, sand table with the different sizes; the ceiling and the two sides of the Cave have many colorful stalactites and marblings stretching like the shapes of waterfull, silk ribbon, rice cluster, Buddha statue … creating a magical, mysterious scene stimulating the imagination of the viewers.
Rated as a cave with beautiful scenery, meeting the needs of geological research, exploration and sightseeing, on December 9th, 2015, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 42/52/QD-BVHTTDL ranking the scenic beauty of Kho Chua La Cave as a national monument.
Currently, the scenic beauty of Kho Chua La Cave has been being invested in construction of infrastructure to promove value, contributing to socio-economic development, creating employment and income, become a place of cultural and spirit activities which are useful for local people.
