Headquarters of Dien Bien Phu Campaign of the Vietnam People's Army is located in a primeval forest at the foot of Pu Don Mountain. After three times of relocation, Muong Phang was selected as the last station of the Campaign Command (from January 31st, 1954 to May 15th, 1954) with more than 20 working sheds and bunkers for staff personnel stretching along the stream from the outside in about 1km long. During 105 days here, General Vo Nguyen Giap and the Campaign Command released offensive directives and orders that were decisive to the victory of each battle, particularly the total offensive order on May 7th, 1954 to make the victory that “resounded throughout the five continents and was world-shaking”. Currently, the relic still retains its wild look and bears the mark of the nation's heroic historical victory. In addition to the historical value, Muong Phang also entertains tourists with its beautiful natural scenery, cool and fresh climate, traditional cultures of ethnic minorities in the region.
