Ta Sin Thang Fair Market

Time: On Days of Rat and Horse every Lunar Calendar month - Location: Ta Sin Thang Commune, Tua Chua District.

Ta Sin Thang  fair market is opened every month on the days of “Rat” and “Horse” of the Lunar Calendar. Being opened once every six days, it is a place for exchanging and trading goods and agricultural products of ethnic minorities in 5 northern communes of Tua Chua District (Sin Chai, Ta Sin Thang, Lao Sa Phinh, Trung Thu, and Sinh Phinh). Additionally, Ta Sin Thang Fair Market is also an ideal dating rendezvous for ethnic men and women.

Ta Sin Thang fair market still retains unique features of an upland fair market with brilliant costumes of ethnic people and local agricultural products such as fruits, vegetables, cassava, rice, shiitake, wood ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, fish, pigs and chickens, etc. There are also traditional brocade items, rows of colorful sticky rice, and Thang Co (a traditional dish) pans simmering in a corner of the market. Trying Thang Co without drinking Mong Pe wine is like a pretty girl with no one flirting. Local people’s Mong Pe wine is distilled from corn grains fermented by forest tree leaves, so it is very fragrant and delicious. The wine is strong but soft and not dizzy, making drinkers always lightheaded, drunk but still awake..
