The curving waves of rice keep stacking and layering to create a shimmering harbor frame, leaving a deep impression on anyone who has seen it once.

The history of terraced fields is associated with the history of residence of ethnic groups in Vietnam’s northern mountains. Their cultural values are reflected in the farming experience, production customs, the formation of terraced fields of each ethnic group.

A terraced field has many levels in series and each level is a small field. The more levels there are, the more farming techniques the owner has. Given the scarcity of flat land, wet rice growers use hillsides to create an even and flat plot of land which looks like a three-step staircase. That’s the way terraced fields were created, a rare feature of Vietnam’s wet rice civilization.

On the road Ta Leng - Muong Phang, about 05 km from the center of Dien Bien Phu city, Ta Leng is a place known by many people for its terraced fields stretching and winding along the slopes of Pu Pha mountain. After the hardships of the working days, the Mong people in Ta Leng have created a very beautiful construction. With a total area of more than 30 hectares, the terraced fields at Ta Leng stretch from halfway down the mountain to the stream, surrounding the entire slope of Pu Pha mountain. Ta Leng in the rice season is as beautiful as a mural in the middle of a thousand thousand, so it not only attracts tourists to admire, but it is also chosen by a large number of program crews, videographers or photography experts.
